My group training for lawyers and CPAs has the same philosophy as my one-to-one BD coaching. It isn’t based on a new book, a manual or proprietary system. Over the years, I have contributed to some of those programs and have seen firsthand that they do not match the real-world BD needs of individual professionals.
After decades in professional services, working with lawyers and CPAs, I’ve learned that practical actions drive BD success – especially when someone in a firm bought into a “system” or product with an accompanying book or software platform that looked good but rarely fits everyday BD reality.
My training focuses on practical actions that participants can implement immediately – not theory. It typically involves small groups, ideally six to 20 participants. Topics are always tailored but could include:
• Creating practical BD habits
• Expanding networks
• Strengthening first impressions and profile
• Understanding how existing clients generate new opportunities
• Ensuring follow-up actually happens
• Avoiding BD overwhelm
