As a successful Chartered Accountant who spent years in firm leadership roles, Larry brings an invaluable perspective to his consulting work with accounting and law firms, and others in the professional services sector. He is widely sought out for his spot-on advice and steadying guidance on practice management, professional development, marketing, communications and business development.
Larry trained with Price Waterhouse where he obtained his CA and first moved into corporate recovery and insolvency. He then transferred to an off-shore Price Waterhouse office, where he focused on reinsurance. He left the firm and at 29 years of age became one of the youngest ever partners in Ernst & Young’s predecessor firm.
Larry’s career later led him to the UK and a partnership in Mazars, where he focused on forensic and litigation support specializing in the Lloyd’s of London reinsurance market. Mazars is an integrated international partnership in 69 countries. In Europe, it is the largest accounting partnership outside the Big Four.
Larry had such strong business development success, he was asked to become Mazar’s national business development and marketing partner, heading up strategy and tactics for the firm’s 20 offices. He sat on the international group’s marketing committee, chaired two of their international conferences and was instrumental to the firm winning Top Firm of the Year for three out of four years from the award’s inception. Larry was also involved in Mazars’ rebranding as part of its international expansion.
In 2000, Larry founded Promarc Consulting Group Inc., a successful business development and marketing consulting firm that evolved into Korverge Inc. in 2010.
Larry is the national executive director of Managing Partners’ Forum (MPF) Canada, a judge for the MPF international awards and sits on the editorial board of Professional Marketing magazine.
